Pastries and More: Butter & Spice, SS 2

Nestled in the heart of SS 2, just a stone’s throw away from its sister shop, Kona Bakehouse, lies a cozy haven for pastry lovers – Butter & Spice. As we stepped inside on a bustling Sunday brunch, the aroma of freshly baked goodies welcomed us.

The ambiance was inviting, with chatter filling the air as patrons enjoyed their treats. Despite the crowd, we managed to find a spot and browsed the extensive array of pastries on display. From flaky croissants to delectable canelés, there was something to tempt every palate.

The Extensive Range of Offering

Our taste buds led us to try the Tamago Mentaiko, a savory rice bursting with flavors. The generous topping of big salmon roe paired perfectly with the Japanese tamago, creating a symphony of taste sensations with each bite. The burst of roe in the mouth was tasty, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

In addition to the Tamago Mentaiko, we also tried a truffle mushroom quiche. While it didn’t quite reach the heights of the Tamago Mentaiko, it still provided a satisfying treat. The flavors of the mushrooms combined with the richness of the truffle created a comforting dish.

One of the highlights of Butter & Spice is its dedicated oven for pizza, offering yet another option for hungry visitors. Although we didn’t try the pizza on this visit, it’s definitely on our list for next time.
