SoloMen Cafe SS 2- Ramen Done Perfectly
We been to SoloMen once when it newly opened few years back, cannot remember the experience as it was too long ago. So recently we went back to SoloMen to try out their ‘Men’ – Ramen.
SoloMen is located on the same row with Nyonya Restaurant and Little Bentong Street. Check out the posts. 🙂
The Menu
Ramen is the main highlight in SoloMen, there are many varieties of it. There are also donburi, fish, desserts and a lot of beverage to choose from.
Check out the menu: here.
Solomen's Ramen
We ordered a Chashumen, a Sapporo ramen, and a gyoza.
Chashumen was a bowl shoyu clear soup ramen with generous portion of chashu slices (pork slices). It came with boiled egg and vegetables as well. The soup was easy on the mouth, for those who are looking for non greasy soup base, this is a good choice.
Sappora Ramen on the other hand also came with two slices of chashu, topped with beansprouts, corn and boiled egg and spring onions. It also came with fried garlic and a little piece of butter separately to add into the soup. The milky soup was the special homemade pork bone soup. The soup was flavorful with umami taste.
The ramen noodle of SoloMen deserves a special mention as it was perfectly done. Without any special order from us, the ramen texture was al-dente, springy and firm, we were glad that the ramen served to us was not too soft. We liked the noodle very much and will definitely revisit them.
The gyoza was served with white vinegar and sesame seeds’ sauce. Dipping the sauce enhanced the taste of gyoza, nice.
The environment and price
SoloMen is neat and spacious. We like the cement bench and the Japanese feel in the shop.
The bill came to about RM50 for the dinner.
Worth returning?
Yes for the hearty bowl of ramen with the perfect texture.
