Grand Taipei Mid Valley Megamall

Grand Taipei Mid Valley Megamall in Taipei offers a wide range of Taiwanese foods. During our recent visit, we managed to try it out. The previous round we went, it was having a full house during lunch hours.

Hong Shao Lion Head (Lion Head Meatball):

One of the highlights of our visit was the Hong Shao Lion Head, a Shanghainese dish featuring tender pork meatballs in vegetable soup. Served with rice, salted vegetables, preserved radish, braised tofu and egg. It offered a perfect combination of flavors and textures. The meatball was not the usual savoury flavour and had sweetness in it.

Sichuan Pepper Chicken:

For those who appreciate spicy cuisine, the Sichuan Pepper Chicken was a must-try. This dish featured crispy fried chicken with cut chilies, coriander, garlic in some gravy. This creates an explosion of bold and spicy flavors. The fried chicken was crispy and recommended to bite it quick before the gravy soften the crispiness.

Corn Pao:

To round off our dinner, we enjoyed the corn pao—a Taiwanese snack that beautifully balanced sweetness and savory notes. The soft and fluffy crispy bun filled with corn filling was a delightful surprise. The juice really burst during the first bite 🙂

Grand Taipei Mid Valley Megamall is a good place for food lovers seeking Taiwanese cuisines. There are more dishes that we would like to try and will sure be returning for more.
