Hokkien Prawn Mee – Lucky Seventeen

Fried Hokkien mee in Klang Valley often relates to the black thick noodle fried with charcoal with strong wok hei (the breath of wok), it is not to say it is not nice but personally I have preferred the Singapore style fried Hokkien prawn mee. The Singapore fried Hokkien mee looks plain compared to the black noodle, but it tastes a lot better.

Previously the only location to find such Hokkien mee is in Hutong of Lot 10, but it is quite far from PJ. Therefore I am delighted to know that there is one new shop opening in Section 17, PJ, right beside the Seventeen Mall.

Singapore Famous Hokkien Prawn Mee

The Menu of Hokkien Prawn Mee

The signature dishes here are definitely Hokkien Prawn Mee. There are many varieties of classic Hokkien prawn mee, from purely prawn, sotong, lala and all-in.

They also serve prawn galore and boneless kampung chicken.

The Hokkien Prawn Noodle

We actually want to order the classic roasted pork however the roasted pork was not available :(. So we settled with two plates of classic all-in.

The prawn mee tastes good, just that short of the wok hei, it can be stronger. The gravy and sambal are good too. Overall a good plate of mee with lot of seafoods in it.

The environment and price

Although a small shop, it is a new place and it is clean, neat and quiet. Pleasant for a meal.

Reasonably priced for mee with seafoods.
