Share the Gift of Heritage this Ramadan at InterContinental KL!
As the month of fasting draws near, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur introduces a bountiful experience of all-you-can eat dining, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast deals and social event packages, interwoven with classic elements of local heritage. This year’s culinary collection, aptly named “Anugerah Warisan”, or “Gift of Heritage” (13 March – 9th April 2024) offers a harmonious blend of authentic local flavours and Middle Eastern flair, with all-you-can-eat spreads and a nostalgic ensemble of sweet treats.
Paying homage to the “Anugerah Warisan” theme, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s impressive roster of culinary maestros sharpen their knives to cook up a storm this Ramadan with traditional local recipes passed down from generations. Chef de Cuisine Chef Hafizi brings authentic Malaccan flavours to the table with the tantalising Asam Pedas Kepala Ikan Merah, Parameswara Melaka-styled charcoal grilled Ikan Bakar and Nyonya Curry Laksa inspired by his mother’s original recipe.
Specialty Dishes by the Chefs
For a savoury extravaganza, Chef Nadzirah, the Sous Chef, unveils her signature 18KG Braised Barbeque-glazed Beef Shank marinated in a rich mixture of 10 herbs & spices and slow roasted for 8 hours, as well as her Siput Sedut Masak Lemak & Daging Dendeng Berlado, inspired by her mentor, the iconic Chef Wan. Diners can pair Lemang Pulut & Ketupat Palas with a heavenly selection of Rendang Tok, Rendang Ayam Minang and Rendang Itik Cili Padi, inspired by Chef de Partie Chef Syukur’s grandmother from Klang.
On the other hands, Chef Balqis will present the Sup Kawah Meletup Kambing Gearbox & Tulang Rawan and Gulai Pucuk Ubi Ikan Bilis, inpired by her mother’s cooking when she was growing up in Sarawak.
Also, hailing from the blissful state of Kelantan, Chef Fatihah introduces a flavorful Kerabu selection including Kerabu Sotong Kering, Kerabu Daging Bakar, Kerabu Kaki Ayam Cili Api and the classic Kerabu Mangga Muda, all crafted using her Tok Wan Kampung’s recipe featuring a combination of local vegetables with spicy chili paste.
