Foo Chuan Seafood @ Klang – The Speedy Service Rest.
Foo Chuan is located in Klang and is one of our favorite spot when come to order dishes dinner. There are many choices of food and one of the uniqueness is the speed they serve the dishes to table.
Averagely the dishes will be on our table in less than five minutes from the moment we placed our order. I mean how swift and speedy it is, regardless whether it is full house or not. Therefore the nickname we gave it – Speedy, until we forgot what is the actual name of this restaurant.
On this very night before MCO 3.0, we went for dinner at Foo Chuan. It was a night with horrible traffic and heavy rain, we only managed to get to the restaurant after 8pm for our dinner.
The Menu
From the menu, they served seafoods, fish, meats and vegetables, all the common stuff. Their signature dishes are the crabs in various sauces, mixed vegetable curry (can opt for pure vegetables or with seafood) and the homemade bean curd. We saw few tables ordering crabs too, but we did not try before.
Too bad they did not provide an indicative price on their menu.
The food of Foo Chuan
We ordered salted egg mantis prawn, assam fish slices and their signature home made tofu.
As usual, they served all the dishes within five minutes, they #neverfailed
The first dishes was the salted egg mantis prawn. We like the prawn but prefer the salted egg sauce to be less moist, personal preference.
The assam fish slices was our first try, we usually would go with the curry fish. The assam gravy was very appetizing, not too strong and just nice for many scoops of rice.
Lastly the signature homemade tofu, it came with mayonnaise and their sweet sour sauce. Foo Chuan processed the tofu themselves by mixing the usual egg tofu with some homemade ingredients (our guess) and deep fried it. Tofu is firmed, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Very tasty.
The environment and price of Foo Chuan
There are always crowds in Foo Chuan especially the peak hours. They operate from 2pm to 10pm according to the update from their Facebook, would make a good supper place. However their operating hours are definitely restricted by the movement control order.
The bill came to about RM 72 for two pax. Assam fish slices cost half of the bill.
Worth returning to Foo Chuan?
Yes for some homey Chinese dishes ordering, we have been returning since.
