ANGEL brand celebrates 80 years of flavours with Chef Aaron Khor of Fifty Tales to reignite traditional taste for today’s Malaysian kitchen

One of Malaysia’s most beloved sauce and condiment brands, ANGEL Brand, today announced its collaboration with the acclaimed culinary mind behind Fifty Tales, Chef Aaron Khor, to celebrate its 80th anniversary. The partnership aims to celebrate ANGEL’s eight-decade legacy while offering a fresh, modern interpretation of Malaysian-Chinese flavours for a new generation in Malaysia.

Founded in 1945, ANGEL Brand has long been recognised for its classic flavour, achieved through a natural fermentation process of up to 6 months (180 days). Crafted using traditional brewing techniques, high-quality ingredients from certified farms, and its in-house breweries, ANGEL’s products, especially the Selected Light Soy Sauce and Bean Paste, have become a staple in many Malaysian kitchens, a favourite amongst home cooks and chefs over the decades.

Popular Malaysian Chef Aaron Khor, recently awarded BURO’s Chef of the Year, is known for reimagining classic Chinese-Malaysian culinary heritage, particularly its beloved noodle dishes with finesse and flair. In conjunction with its 80th anniversary milestone, ANGEL proudly introduces its latest product, the Mala Seasoning Sauce, which blends the fiery flavours of mala with its classic soy sauce, creating a bold flavour of intense mala heat and rich umami. 

The new sauce will be available first at Fifty Tales for a limited period of one month starting 4th July 2025, where diners who spend RM100 and above will receive a complimentary bottle. Not only that, Fifty Tales is also introducing a special, month-long menu featuring a dish specially crafted with ANGEL’s new Mala Seasoning Sauce, paying homage to traditional flavours while presenting it with a fresh and innovative storytelling approach.
