Lee Yam Rice (since 1981), a name synonymous with authentic braised pork and rice, has officially opened its doors in Bandar Botanic. This new branch brings a taste of tradition to a convenient new location, perfect for satisfying your cravings for classic comfort food.
We recently stopped by to try their famous offerings and were not disappointed. We opted for their signature set meals, which are a must-try for any first-timer. The star of the show, of course, is the rice. We got to sample both the fragrant Taro Rice and the Long Bean Rice. The taro rice comes with soft cubes of yam infused into every grain. While the long bean rice offered a delightful savory crunch.
The sets come with a trio of braised goodness: a tender braised egg, melt-in-your-mouth tofu, and the main event—their famous braised pork. Slow-cooked to perfection, the braised pork belly is incredibly rich and flavorful, with a silky texture that practically melts on your tongue. Paired with the flavorful rice, this meal is a nostalgic journey back to traditional Chinese home cooking.
