Thai Mama Tmn. Paramount – Thai Foods Crave Satisfied
*** Updated Feb 2022: Thai Mama has since ceased operation and was taken over by Thap Teem, also a Thai food restaurant.***
Thai Mama has been around for more than a year. It started operation during the 2020 lockdown, guess the business is not bad for them during this period.
As their menu also suggested, it has been a while since we set foot in Thailand, this meal helped to satisfy the craving a little.
The Menu of Thai Mama
The menu has a lot of choices. There are such as fish, pork, seafoods, single plated rice and noodle, dessert and etc.
The foods of Thai Mama
During our dinner visit, we ordered basil pork rice, braised pork knuckle rice and an oysters omelets.
Out of the three, our favorite was the basil pork rice. The minced pork has flavorful gravy, it was fragrant. Not to forget their house signature chili sauce, spicy and tangy, very appetizing to go with all the dish.
The braised pork leg rice on the other hand was also nicely done. The meat was tender yet firm, we just hope that the gravy can be improved as it was quite bland. This was when the chili sauce helped enhancing the taste. 🙂
As for the oysters omelette, the eggs and oysters portion were quite generous, there was also bean sprouts underneath the eggs as a base. Not too bad just that we hope there were more wok hei to it.
The environment and price
Thai Mama setting is spacious and well ventilated, the mural on the walls are interesting. A simple and no frilled restaurant it is.
The bill came to about RM50 for the three dishes we had.
Worth returning?
Yes. There are many other dishes that we would like to try.
