Sri Nyonya Restoran – Hot & Spicy Nyonya Foods

The area where Restoran Sri Nyonya located is an area we never been to, though it is just 10 minutes from where we stay. It is a housing area with school nearby, and it seems like only one row of shop lots is there.

Quite a pleasant and quiet housing area which we like it.

The Menu

There are four pages, the selections are quite many. Although no photos, the dishes name are straightforward. Price is clearly indicated except for seafood is on seasonal price.

All the dishes sounds tempting and delicious, quite hard for us to pick few.

The food

We ended up picked nasi ulam, petai sambal udang, perut ikan and brinjals with spicy tauchew.

Except for nasi ulam, the other three dishes turned out to be spicy and very spicy, didn’t know that even the perut ikan is a spicy dish.

Although spicy, all were appetizing and tasty. With the heavy and strong taste of petai sambal prawn and brinjals with spicy tauchew, we can’t stop our fork and spoon 🙂

The highlight of dinner were nasi ulam and perut ikan. Nasi ulam has lot of herbs in it and smelled so fragrant. As for perut ikan, it had the gulai taste, spicy and tangy. We even ordered another bowl of steamed rice to go with it. As the menu written, perut ikan is ‘A true blue Nyonya special!’.

The environment

Very homey feel, it seems the owner’s family stays upstairs of the shop. The restaurant is clean and cozy.

The bill came to about RM108 for all four dishes.

Worth returning?

Definitely a Yes.
