Betawi's menu
During our visit, we tried few of their signature dishes that showcased the rich flavor of Betawi cuisine.
Firstly, our meal kicked off with Betawi’s signature dish, Tahu Telur. This is must-try starter with combination of tofu and egg, perfectly fried to a golden crisp. It’s served with special curated tangy sauce.
Next-up, Soto Betawi. A traditional Betawi-style beef soup. This soup is well-cooked with aromatic spices. The soup is accompanied by melinjo crackers, which are specially imported from Jakarta. These crackers add a unique taste that complements the rich broth.
Ikan Bobor Bayam. This is a fried fish fillet served in a creamy coconut milk and spinach sauce. Dipped with sambal and crispy sweet potato, definitely a combination of textures and flavors.
Next highlight, Ayam Taliwang. A quarter portion of Lombok-style grilled chicken. Chicken perfectly grilled, tender, and flavourful, served with Plecing Kangkung.
We concluded our meal with a delightful dessert, Bubur SumSum Pannacotta. This Sulawesi-style fresh coconut dessert was a refreshing and creamy end to a perfect dinner. Love the pannacotta.
Not forgetting the drinks, we ordered Jus Alpukat, a creamy indonesian avocado smoothie and Es Mojito Sirsak (Mocktail with soursop). The Jus Alpukat was rich and velvety, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and avocado flavor. The mocktail provided a zesty and refreshed palette.
