Angcle Peoh's Menu
Angcle Peoh serves his authentic and original Penang Ayer Itam Asam Laksa (must-try), Fried Kuey Teow, Curry Noodles and Prawn Noodles too.
The Asam Laksa is a type of noodle soup that is sour and spicy, with a unique and refreshing taste. It had a rich fish broth, tamarind paste, and various herbs and spices, such as lemongrass, galangal, and chili peppers. The noodles used in Asam Laksa are typically rice noodles, and the dish is usually served with shredded fish, cucumber, onions, and mint leaves.

The food
The Asam Laksa at Angce Peoh definitely lived up to its reputation. Firstly, the broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of sourness and spiciness. Secondly, the fish used in the soup was fresh and had a delicate flavor that complemented the tangy broth. In addition, the noodles were cooked perfectly, with a chewy texture that went well with the other ingredients.
Finally, why I love about the Asam Laksa at Angce Peoh, it is the generous amount of shredded fish that was served with it. (you can request to add-on and even skip the heko as some may not favor the heko taste). The fish was finely shredded and had a nice texture that added to the overall taste of the dish. The cucumber, onions, and mint leaves also provide a refreshing contrast to the sour and spicy broth.
